The batting woes of the West Indies Women continued on Sunday with a fourth successive T20 defeat in their 5-match series versus England.
Once again, the bowlers must be given credit for giving the regional team a fighting chance after restricting the tourists to 131 for 8 in 20 overs. Cherry-Ann Fraser was in fine form, taking 3 for 20 in four overs, with good support coming from Sheneta Grimmond who also bagged 3 at a cost of 33 runs.
The English effort was again spearheaded by Sophia Dunkley who made 35.
The West Indies were in deep trouble early in the chase with two wickets falling in the first over. They never recovered. Twenty three at the top of the order from captain Hayley Matthews was the top score with 17 coming from Shermaine Campbell as the home team lost wickets at regular intervals to be all out for 82 with four overs still to be bowled.
Lauren Bell took 4 for 12 to lead the England bowlers. They go in search of a whitewash in the series on Thursday at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
