A father and son were ambushed and killed on Tuesday afternoon.
TTT News understands that 45 year old Nigel Mootoo, aka Skull, and his 19 year old son, Nerkyle Mootoo, were shot at Caroni North Bank Road in Piarco.
It’s reported that Nigel Mootoo was driving home in a blue Nissan Wingroad with his wife and five year old son while his elder son followed in a white Nissan. As they arrived home, a silver grey Nissan Tiida pulled up behind them and the occupants opened fire on Nerkyle.
The father jumped out of the car and ran away but was pursued and shot multiple times by the suspects. He died at the scene. The suspects then drove away.
Mr. Mootoo’s wife and younger son were unharmed during the incident.
Police from the Piarco Police Station visited the scene and assisted Nerkyle who was still alive. However, he died around 6:20pm at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex while undergoing emergency treatment.
