The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is now in a better state of readiness for any incident following a “Full Scale Emergency Exercise’ at the ANR Robinson International Airport.
The emergency operation called on all major responders on Wednesday morning, including the TTPS, TEMA, the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, the T&T Air Guard, and Caribbean Airlines among others.
Such an exercise is conducted every two years to ensure compliance with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization and regulations promoted by the T&T Civil Aviation Authority for renewal of aerodrome certification.
But Deputy Manager at the ANR Robinson International Airport, Pamela Scotland-Benjamin, said the activity is more than just a regulatory requirement.
