A joint meeting with Teaching Service Commission and Denominational Boards is set to take place this week, according to Education Minister Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, she said a joint meeting took place last week and another is set to ‘iron out’ any outstanding issues.
There has been concern by the Denominational Boards surrounding the recruitment process of primary school teachers. The Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) in particular has stated that it was against a change to the method of recruiting teachers alleging that it was ‘unlawful.’
Dr. Gadsby-Dolly said the meeting this week will address some of these issues.
