The first match of the regional four day championship saw the T&T Red Force go up against the Windward Islands Volcanoes at St George’s in Grenada.
Windwards were first to the crease and lost two early wickets. But Sunil Ambris’ 55, pulled them out off trouble. Later in the innings, Tevyn Walcott played a gem of 87 not out, giving the Windwards something to work with. They were eventually dismissed for 243 with Terrence Hinds and Bryan Charles each taking 4 wickets for the Red Force. Jeremy Solozano and Kharry Pierre opened for the red force with Pierre filling the role left by Vikash Mohan who sustained a hand injury. Pierre would soon be sent packing for a duck which brought captain Bravo to the crease. Bravo and Solozano would guide the Red Force to the close of play of 50 for 1 in 21 overs. T&T will resume play at 10am on Wednesday trailing the Windwards by 193 runs.
