A sanitation worker died in an accident at the Beetham Landfill on Wednesday.
The Trinidad and Tobago Solid Waste Management Company Limited (SWMCOL), via a press release, confirmed the fatal accident at the Beetham Landfill which occurred at approximately 8:45am.
The deceased has been identified as Tristan Harripersad. SWMCOL said initial investigations have revealed that a garbage truck came into contact with Mr. Harripersad, resulting in fatal injuries.
SWMCOL is reminding users of the nation’s landfills to exercise caution while on the
premises and to adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
