Fatima College secured the North Zone Schools Basketball Under-15 title with a convincing win over Queen’s Royal College.
The Mucurapo Road school put 63 points on the board while QRC managed 16. The undefeated Fatima jumped out to an early 10-point lead in the second game of the evening and never looked back. They got 16 points each from Idris Martin and William Francis while Yeshowah Campbell Smith chipped in with 13.
Coach Garvin Warwick praised his team for their commitment to the programme and trusting the systems he put in place which gave them the best opportunity to win. Fatima College will now join Signal Hill Secondary School, Pleasantville Secondary, and Holy Cross College in the Under-15 National Schools Basketball Championships in April.
In the third place play-off, St. Mary’s College got the better of South East Port of Spain 34 points to 28, led by Joshua Knox’s 13 points to secure the third spot in the North Zone.
