Bail has been set at $300,000 after Olympic cyclist Njisane Phillip appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate on Monday, charged with possession of a firearm, four rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana.
The 31 year old was allegedly found with the items in a vehicle he was driving last Saturday, during road traffic exercise along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, at Ghandi Village, Debe.
Phillip, who also represented Trinidad and Tobago at Commonwealth Games, appeared before Magistrate Armina Deonarinesingh and was ordered to surrender his Trinidad and Tobago and United States of America passports and report to the Siparia Police Station every Wednesday.
The matters were adjourned to April 24th.
