Two men were shot in the Oropune/Piarco area on Sunday night.
Reports are that around 8pm gunmen got out of a Mazda 6 car and riddled with bullets, a Nissan Almera and then fled the scene.
The Almera crashed on the side of the roadway in Oropune along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Piarco intersection, where officers from the Homicide Division hurried to the scene to investigate.
The two men, who were known to the police, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died as their vehicle landed on the shoulder of the Westbound lane.
When the DMO, Dr. Mendoza visited the scene he ordered their bodies removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James for autopsies.
Several bullets and shell casings were found at the scene and seized by Crime Scene Investigators.
