Mayaro and environs will soon be seeing an improvement in their water supply.
A statement from the Ministry of Public Utilities says plans for three projects that would help achieve this goal were laid on Tuesday during a virtual meeting hosted by Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales.
Short, medium and long-term strategies were discussed and are geared towards stabilising the supply of water to the area, and improving the level of service provided by WASA to over 30,000 people.
These include the optimisation of operations at the San Pedro Booster with the installation of 50mm pipeline, and the repair of Mayaro Well #17 which is expected to produce an additional 66,000 gallons per day.
Then will come the laying of another pipeline from Navet Dam to the Naparima Mayaro Road.
