Jamaat-al-Muslimeen Leader Imam Yasin Abu Bakr Has Died

Imam Yasin Abu Bakr has died.

Born Lennox Philip, Bakr was famously known as the leader of the Jamaat-al-Muslimeen, which stormed the Red House on July 27th 1990, taking Members of Parliament hostage and declaring the overthrow of the Government.

He and his group also held members of TTT hostage at 11A Maraval Road but eventually surrendered some six days later following amnesty negotiations.
