Yasin Abu Bakr Laid To Rest

Leader of the Jamaat-al-Muslimeen, Yasin Abu Bakr, was laid to rest this afternoon according to Muslim rites.

Abu Bakr died on Thursday night, just two days after his 80th birthday.

The Leader of the Jamaat-al-Muslimeen, which attempted to overthrow the NAR government on July 27th 1990, reportedly collapsed at his home at Long Circular Road in St. James.

Police reported that Bakr, a diabetic, was taken to the St. James Health Facility where he was declared dead.
