Nine permits have already been granted to importers of pepper spray in this country.
This was confirmed by National Security Minister, Fitzgerald Hinds in the Lower House on Friday.
He said while these import permits have already been granted, the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards will also play a key role in the process, to ensure the canisters meet the necessary requirements.
