Florist, owner of La Tropicale Flower Shop and lead designer of the Trinidad and Tobago contingent for the 2023 Chelsea Flower Show, Bernard Beckles passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning.
According to a media release, Mr Beckles complained of feeling unwell while at his office on Tuesday and was taken to the St Augustine Private Hospital where he later died.
Mr Beckles was a self taught florist. He was described as a champion of local flora and fauna, gaining international recognition for his passion, artistry, and creativity.
He was preparing to lead the Trinidad and Tobago team at the 2023 Chelsea Flower Show in London from May 23rd. Team leader Anthony Tang Kai said the team still intends to participate in the prestigious event stating ” He would have insisted on it.”
