UNC Takes Legal Action Against Guidelines Used By House Speaker

Leader of the United National Congress, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, said the party has decided to take legal action against guidelines used by House Speaker Bridgid-Annisette-George during last Thursday’s Motion to remove President Paula-Mae Weekes from Office.

Speaking during the UNC’s Monday Night Forum, Mrs. Persad-Bissessar said the Opposition will continue to defend the Constitution and the democratic principles of the country.

Mrs. Persad-Bissessar also revealed she wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions about a matter concerning Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi.

As part of its “October Revolution,” Mrs. Persad-Bissessar said the Opposition UNC will continue to engage in Parliamentary action.
