An Independent Senator is calling for Government to implement a public awareness campaign to inform the population about the changes expected in Local Government Reform.
Speaking in the Senate on the Municipal Corporations, Extension of Terms of Office and Validation Bill 2023, Senator Dr. Paul Richards praised Government for acting quickly and “responsibly” following the Privy Council judgement in May. But said he does not believe people understand what the reform constitutes.
