For the first time, Tobago has been part of the Africa Film Trinidad and Tobago’s Festival.
Speaking at Tobago’s Launch earlier this week, Festival Director Asha Lovelace said since AFTT’s inception nine years ago, Tobago was part of their plans.
SHELL, sponsor of the Tobago edition of AFTT’s event, expressed their determination to support the Tobago edition, adding it provides endless opportunities for the island’s creatives. Sean McCoon of the Division of Tourism also called on Tobago’s youth to get involved.
The AFTT’s Tobago event saw a workshop hosted by AFTT’s members and film stakeholders in Tobago and an art exhibition. On Saturday, a junior segment was held and an Afrobeat party culminated the three-day event.
