The trade union movement in Trinidad and Tobago was born in the early 1900’s, under the stewardship of Arthur Andrew Cipriani.
A champion of worker’s rights, Cipriani later went on to become Mayor of Port of Spain and an elected member of the pre-Independence Legislative Council.
