Tobago’s scrap iron collectors are appealing to the Government to consider their challenges.
Speaking to the media earlier this week, the collectors stressed that this industry is their livelihood, adding that the laws meant to regulate the scrap iron industry will negatively affect them.
Adopson Toby noted since the closure and reopening of the scrap industry, the Tobago scrap collectors are experiencing financial losses.
The collectors are also calling for the intervention of the Tobago House of Assembly’s Chief Secretary.
