Labour Day 2023 Launch

Labour Day is about respecting and acknowledging the contribution of those who have gone before.

This is according to President of the Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM), Ancel Roget, who announced on Friday the Union’s plans for Labour Day which will be commemorated on June 19th.

Mr. Roget said Labour Day celebrations will normally begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the tomb of former Labour Leader Tubal Uriah “Buzz” Butler, and other significant leaders. He said there will also be a march beginning at Avocat Junction, speeches, and cultural performances.

The theme of this year’s Labour Day is “People’s Power, People Matter.”

General Secretary of the National Trade Union Centre (NATUC). Michael Annisette. said what is needed is a collective power among trade unions.
