Coordinator of the Trinidad and Tobago Family Law Association, Attorney Lynette Seebaran-Suite, believes this country has begun to witness the efforts of children’s legislation that would’ve started to be introduced in the late 2000s.
Mrs. Seebaran-Suite, who is a former Head of the Equal Opportunity Commission, was speaking during the UWI’s Virtual Graduation of the Faculty of Law and Engineering on Thursday, where she was conferred the Honorary Doctors of Law.
She said there continues to be a flurry of people charged with misconduct as it relates to children.
Meanwhile, businessman and Chairman of the Coosal Group of Companies, Sieunarine Persad Coosal, who was also conferred with the honorary LLD on Friday, urged graduands to think outside the box.
The Virtual University Graduation will continue on Saturday which will see Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram receive the Honorary Doctor of Science.
