Three Family Members Die In House Fire In Sangre Grande

A woman and her two children have died following an early morning fire in Sangre Grande on Thursday.

According to reports, fire and police officials responded to a report of a house fire just after 7am at Cooblal Trace along the Toco Main Road.

Fire officers from the Sangre Grande Fire Station responded and extinguished the blaze after which they discovered what appeared to be three bodies burnt beyond recognition.

The officers conducted further enquiries where it was revealed that 48 years old Natasha Nancoo, 19 year old Enrique Reyes, and a 10 year old boy were at the residence at the time of the fire.

The District Medical Officer has since ordered the skeletal remains to the Forensic Science Centre for a post mortem.

Fire and police officials said they are continuing investigations to determine the possible cause of the fire.
