TT U-17 Cricketers Win First Two-Day Match

Trinidad and Tobago U-17 Men brought the good stuff against the Leeward Islands U-17s as they romped to an innings and 63-run win on the second session of the final day of the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-17 Two-Day format.

Resuming the day on 141 for 4 at Preysal, T&T got to 200 for 9 before a declaration was made. The top scorer remained Luke Ali who got 47.

For the Leewards, Ozan Willams claimed 5 for 60 with ball in hand.

Needing 127 to avoid defeat on the second and final day, the Leewards could not withstand the arm of Aadian Racha as the man from Rio Claro bowled with pace and accuracy, claiming 5 wickets for an impressive 11 runs. This pressure created more chances for Christian Rampersad who finished with 2 for 11. The Leewards were skittled out for 64 in 38.2 overs, handing victory to T&T, two hours before the close of play. Racha finished with a match haul of 8 for 32.

T&T’s next clash is against the Jamaican U17’s on Saturday at Powergen in Penal.
