UWI Enforces No Thoroughfare Policy

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) St. Augustine says its No Thoroughfare Policy will be strictly enforced to enhance control and monitoring of individuals and vehicles accessing the campus.

This, in a bid to elevate safety and security standards for all uses. The University is encouraging members of the public accustomed to using campus roads as a thoroughfare to seek alternative routes.

The UWI says only authorised vehicles displaying valid UWI Vehicle Permits will be allowed entry via the North and South Entrances.

The UWI says additional UWI Estate Police Officers will be on duty at the North, South, Daaga, and Heart Ease Gates and their responsibilities will include redirecting unauthorised vehicles and conducting necessary security screening.

Officers from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service will collaborate with UWI Estate Police to manage vehicular traffic congestion on and around the campus.
