National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds has taken aim at the trade of “legal guns” in this country.
Speaking at a Passing Out Parade for 96 individuals in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Minister Hinds noted that organised crime is the catalyst for many of the “unwanted ills in society,” which has made a business of crime. He added that this has generated huge income streams largely from drug trafficking and extortion, as well as the trade of legal guns.
Minister Hinds meanwhile said the TTPS continues to do everything in its power to reduce home invasions.
He said a total of 132 people have been arrested over the last nine months.
