CONCACAF Caribbean Cup: TT Defence Force Lose To Moca FC

The Defence Force are out of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup after falling to a 2-0 defeat to Moca FC of the Dominican Republic in the Group ‘A’ finale at the Hasely Crawford Stadium last evening.

Moca finish the Group in second place with nine points, one point behind group winners Cavalier of Jamaica.

It was one-way traffic in the first 45 minutes, with Moca content to sit back and guard the 0-0 result, knowing that a draw was enough to seal their passage to the Semi Finals.

The Army’s raids did not bear fruit and in the 64th minute Moca capitalised as the home team wilted. Gustavo Ascona scored the opener for the visitors.

Moca remained in control and secured the three points and a Semi Final spot in stoppage time when Ronaldo de Pena finished off a counter-attack to complete the 2-0 scoreline.

Following the match, Defence Force Head Coach Lloyd Andrews apologised to the fans.
