Presto Market has launched a hydroponic garden at the Arouca Government Primary School to raise awareness and encourage young people to be engaged in a more sustainable form of agriculture.
Speaking at the event on Wednesday, its Business Development Manager, Jean-Luc Mouttet, said a similar initiative was launched at the Arima Presbyterian School earlier this year.
He said it has been a successful venture, and has helped the school in some of its own initiatives.
MP for Arouca/Maloney, Camille Robinson-Regis, hailed the projects by Presto Market, noting that it falls in line with Government’s mandate to bring a greater sense of agriculture awareness to young people.
Presto said it looked within other members of the Agostini Group to help make the initiative what it is by joining to equip at least ten schools across the country with hydroponics systems.
