Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has echoed the sentiments of Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar concerning the desecration of Hindu emblems on religious grounds.
At today’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing, Dr. Rowley answered a question, noting that the Opposition Leader was correct when she made a statement denouncing the point of view of some that the recent attacks on Hindu temples were the result of religious intolerance.
Dr. Rowley went on to say that other religions have also been affected in the same way.
Prime Minister Rowley also cautioned persons who chose to use the circumstances to put forward their own narratives.
On Wednesday, the Opposition Leader took to her office’s Facebook page saying that there was no proof that the desecration of emblems at Hindu temples were the result of religious intolerance.
