City Month was launched in San Fernando at the San Fernando City Hall Auditorium on Friday.
Convener of Carnival, Dawad Philip, expressed enthusiasm for Carnival 2024 but spoke to an intentional shift in strategy regarding the festival in San Fernando.
San Fernando Mayor Robert Parris built on the idea, stating that plans are afoot to better engage with various small businesses throughout the city under four main pillars of tourism, culture, arts, and sports.
Some activities in the month include School Drama, Divali observances, a fete match with San Fernando versus Arima, and the Launch of Carnival on November 26th.
The month culminates in the Mayor’s Ball on December 1st.
