Former West Indies player Marlon Samuels has been banned from all cricket for six years after an independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching the Emirates Cricket Board Anti-Corruption Code.
A release from the International Cricket Council stated that Samuels, who was charged by the ICC in September 2021 (in its capacity as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official under the ECB Code), was found guilty by the Tribunal in August this year of four offences pertaining to Articles 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 2.4.6 and 2.4.7 of the Code.
Samuels top-scored for West Indies in the final of both the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cups and last played international cricket in 2018. He announced his retirement in November 2020 with over 11,000 international runs across formats.
The ban took effect from November 11th 2023.
