Communities Can Lead The Fight Against HIV/AIDS

As Trinidad and Tobago aspires to achieve the global target of Ending AIDS by 2030, the National Aids Co-ordinating Committee (NACC) will be placing greater emphasis on the response at the community level to equip Community Led Organizations to play a more impactful and meaningful role in supporting persons living with HIV/AIDS.

The National AIDS Coordinating Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour hosted a World Aids Day Networking Event at the Gender and Child Affairs Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister on Friday.

Line Minister Ayanna Webster-Roy notes that it is crucial that we reaffirm our dedication to taking consistent and united action in the face of this disease.

‘Let Communities Lead’ is the Slogan for World AIDS Day 2023.

Minister Webster Roy says community stakeholders will be called upon to have more active roles in the national response to HIV and AIDS.
