Voluntary Recall of Quaker Oats Granola Bars And WanaBana Apple Sauce Pouches

The Ministry of Health is advising of the recall of Quaker Oats Granola Bars and Wana-Bana Applesauce Pouches due to contamination.

The recall issued by Quaker Oats is due to salmonella contamination in more than two dozen cereal bars and granola bars.

The Ministry advises Salmonella is a dangerous bacterium which can lead to severe illnesses when it enters the bloodstream.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States of America has also issued a recall of apple sauce pouches, produced by manufacturer Wana-Bana LLC, as a result of elevated lead levels.

The three specific Wana-Bana products for recall are apple cinnamon fruit puree, Schnucks apple sauce pouches with cinnamon and Weis cinnamon apple sauce.
