In this month of African History, the essence of blackness is being explored.
Founder of the Black Consciousness Festival, Sean Samad, says an examination of blackness will be found in the event, carded for Saturday. Mr. Samad says that true representations of history will also be highlighted.
Drawing attention to the issues of being black, Mr. Samad says, can sometimes be intriguing. He points to the fact that the difference between ‘Black’ and being ‘of African descent’ comes down to political nuance. The Festival, carded for Saturday, will bring these thoughts together.
