An early morning accident has claimed the lives of two people in Tobago – the first road fatalities recorded on the island for 2024.
The deceased have been identified as Tobago Regional Health Authority employee, Sherma Thomas, and sales truck driver Kareem Thom of Goodwood.
According to police, the vehicle driven by Thom was heading East along the Claude Noel Highway near the Dwight Yorke Stadium just around midnight on Sunday. The driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road, hit a railing, then went down an embankment.
Two other occupants and a child were also injured in the accident.
