• Dr. Avery Hinds Technical Director, Epidemiology Division in his clinical and epidemiological update, pointed out that there is a notable increase in cases and hospitalisations due to COVID-19.

• Dr. Peggy-Ann Burgess, Registrar and COVID-19 Team member in the Internal Medicine Department at the Couva Hospital and Multi-training Facility joined the panel to give some insight on what is currently happening on the COVID-19 wards at the Couva Hospital.

• The Ministry of Health advises that an additional primary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been available for fully vaccinated elderly and immunocompromised persons from November 10th, 2021.

• Dialysis patients are part of the immunocompromised group of individuals who are encouraged to take the third primary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

• Dr. Emile Mohammed, Clinical Coordinator of the NWRHA COVID-19 parallel healthcare system spoke on the importance of the vaccine to dialysis patients.
