The Upper House of Parliament paid homage to three political stalwarts who recently passed, during the opening of the sitting on Tuesday.
Almost two hours were dedicated to remembering former Prime Minister Basdeo Panday, former THA Chief Secretary Hochoy Charles, and former Senator and Government Minister, Fazal Karim.
Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne remembered Mr. Panday as being one of the longest serving MPs and one who broke barriers throughout his political career.
President of the Senate, Nigel de Freitas hailed Hochoy Charles for his development of the sister isle.
And Independent Senator Dr Paul Richards said Fazal Karim’s legacy of technical vocational education will live on.
