What does the future hold for Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival?
The U(We) Outside Carnival Series, hosted by the Department of Literary, Cultural, and Communication Studies, aims to find out through a series of public conversations on Carnival set for April 12th, 19th and 26th under the Samaan Tree at UWI.
Adjunct Lecturer at the UWI Department of Creative and Festival Arts, Omari Ashby, shares more about the wide range of topics to be discussed – from the levels of public participation and its rising costs, to the divides between traditional and contemporary mas, urban and rural resource allocation, and even the corporatisation of Carnival.
