Amarah’s Killer Sent To St. Ann’s For Psychiatric Evaluation

The 39 year old man charged with killing four year old Amarah Lallite has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation after making his first court appearance for her murder.

Ishan Constant was sent to St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital when he appeared virtually before High Court Master Margaret Sookraj-Goswami on Monday.

Constant’s attorney made the application, which was supported by the prosecution. He will return to court on May 1st.

A post mortem on Amarah’s body, revealed she was beaten and beheaded.

On April 8th, Amarah’s mother, of Fifth Street, Five Rivers, went to the Arouca Police Station to make a report of domestic abuse. Police accompanied her back to the home she shared with Constant, where the child’s severed body was found in one of the bedrooms.

Constant was arrested at the scene.
