“A Press for the Planet” is the theme chosen by the United Nations for this year’s World Press Freedom Day. The UN has dedicated 2024 to journalism and freedom of expression in the context of the current global environmental crisis. One local environmentalist, journalist and geographer says there is a need for the Press in the region to recognise the value of reporting on Climate Change.
