ODPM Continues To Boost MOH’S Medical Capabilities In The Fight Against COVID-19

The Ministry of Health’s efforts (MOH), in leading the national fight against the COVID-19 virus, recently received another boost from the ODPM which provided four Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) with much needed medical supplies from the national disaster strategic reserves.

Benefitting from this distribution were the Eastern, North Central, North West and South West RHAs which received 1,600 biohazard bags, 400 body bags, 230 medical grade cots, 150 commodes and 3 wheelchairs. The handover took place on November 24th and 26th, 2021 at the ODPM’s Warehouse.

The MOH’s representatives greatly welcomed this additional boost of support from the ODPM’s strategic reserves. They indicated that the items were timely and will bolster the RHAs’ abilities to more effectively respond to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, as well as to provide comfort to the general patient population.

Mr. Dennis Marcelle and Mr. Keion Wight represented the ODPM. Mr. Marcelle, the ODPM’s Operations Manager, highlighted the ODPM’s commitment to disaster risk reduction by strengthening the capabilities of national agencies for multi-hazard situations.
