Windies Into Super 8 – Rutherford To The Rescue

The West Indies stormed into the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with a game to spare after defeating New Zealand at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Wednesday night with some top class bowling.

It looked dire for the West Indies after they were invited to bat first and by the 6th over, they were 30/5. Nicholas Pooran with 17 was the only top order batter in double figures. But “Player of the Match” Sherfane Rutherford showed up to give the total some respectability with a top score of 68 in 39 balls featuring 6 sixes and 2 fours.

He fittingly faced the media at the Post-Match Conference and was understandably pleased with the victory.
