ICC T20 World Cup: WI To Play South Africa In Super 8 Stage

The West Indies are set to play South Africa in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup following qualification after their victory against New Zealand at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

The match is carded to take place June 23rd at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, after the Windies’ final Group C game versus Afghanistan on Monday.

The teams met in a three-match warm-up series prior to the start of the World Cup and the West Indies recorded a 3-0 Series win but it’s a totally different scenario now as South Africa were without star bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Ottneil Baartman as well as their captain Aiden Markram.

The West Indies were also without their skipper Rovman Powell as well as Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Alzarri Joseph who have already made their presence felt at the World Cup.
