While Tobago made final preparations for the landfall of Hurricane Beryl, the island was rocked by a murder which took place in the midst of rainfall just before midnight on Monday.
The victim was identified as 32 year old Nathan Roach of Mt. Pleasant.
According to police, around 11:55pm on Sunday, a relative of the deceased was asleep in his home that he shares with his relatives when he was awoken by a loud banging noise and shortly after he heard several loud explosions.
Checks were made and Roach was observed lying motionless on the floor in his bedroom. Enquiries revealed that another relative was fired upon but escaped injury as he ran to safety.
This is Tobago’s 11th murder for 2024.
