One new project on its way to implementation under the Ministry of Planning and Development is the Institute of Marine Affairs Oil Spill Fingerprinting Database.
Minister of Planning and Development, Pennelope Beckles-Robinson, explained what the $500,000 allocation will provide for, toward this project. This, she clarified, will be utilised in situations such as the recent oil spill, due to a capsized barge that occurred off the coast of Cove in Tobago.
The Minister was answering questions during the Standing Finance Committee in the Lower House on Thursday. The Ministry is seeking an allocation of $344,733,000 for fiscal 2025.
