Turning a test into testimony was how Garth Guada described the vision of the Project Uplift Male Mentorship Programme in the lives of the young men it aims to impact.
On Saturday, 38 young men, ranging from ages 8 to 18 were the proud 1st graduating cohort of the male mentorship programme.
Training co-ordinator of the Panorama Gardens Improvement Committee and founder of the Project Uplift programme Garth Guada said his desire to become a positive community leader led him to formulate the programme in his community.
The young men were mentored by male role models from various sectors who covered topics such as cybercrime, bullying, peer pressure, drugs and dining etiquette. The young men and their families were also given pieces of advice from Government Ministers Stuart Young, Adrian Leonce and Lisa Morris-Julien.
This programme model is expected to be included in other areas of the country.
