Several well-known local businesses were the recipients of awards at the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s annual Champions of Business ceremony on Thursday.
Chief Brand Products, Angostura, as well as Creamery Novelties were among those copping top honours.
It was an evening full of glitz and glamour at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, as the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce held its annual Champions of Business awards ceremony on Thursday.
The evening was not full of surprises, with many well-known ‘big names’ in the business sector walking away with bragging rights, including Angostura which won the Green Agenda Award.
And if sharing ice cream on the night wasn’t enough, Creamery Novelties received the award for Breakthrough Exporter of the Year. Meanwhile, a fairly new company, oDeliver, a tech enabled, e-commerce logistics company, also copped the SME (Medium sized) Award.
Several others received awards including Cocobel Chocolate for the SME (Small sized) Award and CARIRI for the Innovation Award for its rubber Crump project, recycling tyres to be used in road paving and otherwise.
Junior Elgin Sammy, the face behind the Junior Sammy Group of companies was inducted into the Business Hall of Fame, along with the owner of Janoura’s, George Janoura.
