CoP Cautions Public On The Misuse Of Gel Blaster Toy Guns

Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood-Christopher has issued a warning about the misuse of ‘gel blaster’ toy guns, noting that they pose a potential threat to public safety.

In a statement, the Police Commissioner reminded the public that while gel blasters may be marketed as toys, models that closely resemble real firearms are prohibited.

She also warned about the indiscriminate use of such devices, especially in public spaces or toward unsuspecting individuals.

The public was also reminded that using any item, whether real or imitation, to threaten, intimidate, or harm others constitutes a criminal offence under the law. Individuals engaging in such acts may face severe legal repercussions, including criminal charges.

Commissioner Harewood-Christopher encouraged parents and guardians to supervise minors and educate them on the potential consequences of these toys.
