The National Flag will be flown at half-mast on Thursday, which is the day of the State-assisted funeral for Member of Parliament Lisa Morris-Julian, who represented D’Abadie/O’Meara and served as Minister in the Ministry of Education.
The announcement came from the Ministry of National Security on Tuesday.
The National Flag is flown at half-mast or half-staff when the nation is in mourning. The Ministry notes that other flags on the same stand of poles should also be at half-mast or should not be displayed at all while the National Flag is at half-mast. Additionally, flags of foreign nations should not be flown at half-mast unless their respective countries are also observing a period of mourning.
The funeral for the Minister and her two children, who died in a fire on December 16th in Arima, is scheduled for January 2nd at 9am.
This service will take place at the Santa Rosa RC Church. You can watch live coverage on TTT and TTT Live Online on Facebook and YouTube.
