It’s a busy weekend ahead for the sport of badminton with the National Junior-ranking Tournament taking place at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua.
The local trials come on the heels of a two-day coaching development course, and which precedes the school’s Championship Finals next week.
Also, on Saturday, the Ministry of Sport hosts Shuttle Smash for girls and women aged 5 to 19 at the Woodbrook Youth Facility and at the Sangre Grande Secondary School as part of their ‘Let Her Play’ series. Technical Director for the T&T Badminton Association, Anil Seepaul, says the sport is moving in the right direction, as seen with the schools preliminary competition.
