Soroptimist International Trinidad and Tobago is striving to build confidence in the vaccine to combat the Human Papilloma Virus or HPV, by educating women and girls through animation.
The Human Papilloma Virus is the name of a common group of sexually transmitted viruses. HPV’s 16 and HPV 18 are high-risk strains of the virus that can cause cervical and head and neck cancers.
The local chapter of Soroptimist International, a global volunteer organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls launched a comic book “HPV Hereos – Defenders of the Future” at the National Library, St. Vincent Street, Port of Spain, on Tuesday.
